How One Could Easily End The Avengers vs X-Men Fight
Captain America: The Phoenix is a malevolent, destructive parasitic entity of cosmic proportions! It must be stopped!
Me: Actually, the Phoenix Force is the sum of all life that is and ever will be. It's a cosmic function, in the same way that Death or Infinity are.
Captain America: The Phoenix Force destroyed an entire galaxy when it possessed Jean Grey! And then she KILLED HERSELF.
Me: Dude, that wasn't Jean Grey. That was a psionic copy of Jean Grey created by the Phoenix Force as the real Jean Grey was healing from her injuries at the bottom of the ocean. The psionic copy couldn't control all of her emotions in a human body, and went a little crazy. But as a matter of fact, Jean Grey is actually the Phoenix Force now.
Captain America: ...Say what?
Me: Yeah. Jean Grey has literally transcended into a cosmic being. That giant Phoenix entity that's coming to Earth? That's also Jean Grey.
Captain America: Summers, is this true?
Cyclops: Pretty much, yeah.
Captain America: Well, shit, dude! Why didn't you tell me? Maybe there is a chance the Phoenix Force can be used for good!
Cyclops: ...Srsly?
Captain America: If Jean Grey and the Phoenix Force are actually a singular entity, I don't see why not! And if the Phoenix Force really is the sum of all life that is and ever will be-
Me: As well as a harbinger of change and evolution.
Captain America: -then it's possible it is here for beneficial reasons! You should have just told us, man.
Cyclops: My bad. I've been kind of a douche lately. And the Phoenix is kind of a sore spot- you know, being my wife and all.
